Garrett's 2nd Birthday

We had a great time with family and friends celebrating Garrett's 2nd Birthday. We wanted to have it at a local park in the Valley, but it poured down rain the morning of the party. So we told everyone to come over to our house instead. By the time 3:00 rolled around it was actually pretty nice outside. So we opened presents, had some cake and played out in the back yard. Garrett did really good, he didn't freak out and cry at all, what a big boy. This is our big helper Gavin, Garrett was napping before the party while Gavin helped with the balloons.

Gavin helping daddy blow up the balloons, he was almost as excited as Garrett.

Grandpa Keeney came over a little early to hang out, and the boys had a blast hitting the balloons to him.

Garrett's Monster Truck birthday cake, he loves anything with trucks or cars right now.

Garrett and Gavin getting a first peek at the cake. Love the smile on Garrett's face.

Opening presents with all his friends and cousins.

Ok Garrett, now blow out the candle, I don't understand mommy?? So cute.

Cake time outside, turned out really nice.

Weight Loss Goal

In January of this year I set a weight loss goal for myself, I wanted to lose around 20pounds. So I started slow, I tried to be very patient with myself and I worked hard at working out. Well I've done it, I've lost 25 pounds and am down almost 2 pant sizes. Now I am in no way a skinny girl, probably never will be. I still have another 10 pounds I'd like to lose. For now I'm proud of myself, and feel better about being healthier. The working out has also given me so much more energy and patients with my family. If you do something for yourself, you can give so much more of yourself to others. I'm going to continue to work hard and set another goal by the end of the year to have my last 10 pounds off. Wish me Luck!! :)
This is the dress I was wearing when I met Joe for the 1st time, almost 10years ago, and it fits!

New Shutters

So we have been doing some small upgrades to the house. Just making sure we are taking care of our largest investment. I ordered the shutters from Home Depot almost three weeks ago. They took forever to get here because the order, sizes and color, got all messed up through the paperwork. But they finally arrived just a few minutes before Joe got up from sleeping. So I tried to be patient, and said Honey when you wake up a bit and get something to eat could you please put up the shutters. Well I think he knew how eager I was to get them up, not two minutes later he was outside getting all his tools ready for the job. And of course I was smiling inside, yeah their finally going up. I think they look great, it adds so much to the face of the house. Thanks Honey!!

Picnic w/ Grandpa & Grandma

Grandpa & Grandma Keeney invited us out for a picnic lunch at a local park. We had such a good time hanging out with them, the boys really love Grandma's energy. We really don't know exactly how old Joe's mom is, she keeps it a secret, but she sure has great energy. We went for a short walk after lunch by the river, and the boys put their feet in. What a beautiful day to spend with family.
The boys playing with some bubbles, always a great thing to do at the park.

Grandma, the boys and I trying to get a good picture.

Who is that sexy couple, wow they sure make great looking kids! Hee hee

All the Keeney's together, Joe sure looks like his Dad.

Grandma brought a whole bunch of stuff for the boys. Now that Gavin will be starting Preschool next month, she got him a cool Wolverine back pack and some clothes for school. Thanks Grandma.

Playdate at the Keeney's

I had a few friends over for a playdate/lunch at my house. The boys had a blast, Gavin says during the playdate "I'm having a fun party Mom" so cute. All the boys played so well together, and enjoyed a yummy lunch. Ladies thanks so much for coming over. Connor giving us a great smile.
All the boys doing some fun legos.

Lunch time, everyone say cheese!!! Garrett says cheese almost everytime we take his picture.

Garrett was rubbing Aiden's hair, so cute.

Silly Boys

The boys were having fun one day wearing Daddies headphones pretending like they were working on the phones. I had to snap some photos, of course. What a bunch of silly boys, always trying to be like Daddy. The boys are really getting closer more and more everyday. They are truly best friends and seem to enjoy playing together. They do, like all brothers, fight occasionally over toys, but not much else. I am so blessed to have great kids, a loving husband and a beautiful home, very grateful for all my blessings.

Big Boy Bed

So I confess, Gavin has been sleeping with me for over a year now. Since Joe works nights the bed is open and somehow we got into the routine of Gavin sleeping with us/me. But soon Garrett will be out of the crib and into a bunk bed and we need to get Gavin in his big boy bed first. We borrowed a twin air mattress from my brother and I took the weekday shift and Joe slept on it through the weekend when he was off. That only lasted a week and I was done, couldn't get good enough sleep. So it's been about 4nights that Gavin has slept by himself all night in his bed, Yeah!! It is a very slow and hard process but we are really trying. I hope both boys will love sharing bunk beds for a long time to come.

Straws & Connectors

So we went to the Valley Library the other day for Preschool story time, and they had a fun activity for the boys.....straws & connectors. They had so much fun playing with them, I hopped online and purchase a box of our own. They showed up in the mail today and the boys had a great time making fun things and wearing them too. Austin (my nephew) came over to visit for a little bit while his mom was taking some pictures for a customer. Austin had such great ideas, what a big imagination he has. Thanks for hanging out with us A.
Austin so proud of his tower, which is taller then he is.
They decided it would be fun to get in it and pretend like they were in jail, so silly.

My boys growing up so fast.

Silly Austin, pretending to be a robot with a helicoper on his head.

BB Guns

Boys will be boys! With the supervision of my brother Travis, and Joe, all the boys did some fun BB Gun shooting in our backyard. My nephew Austin just got to purchase his 1st BB Gun and wanted to try it out. Because we live next to an open field that they could shot towards the Greene's came over to our place. They set up a target on a piece of styrofoam and had a blast taking turns shooting. Joe of course had his old BB Gun he bought forever ago and had fun using it again. Guys really do re-live some of their childhood joys through their sons.
Look at this bunch, smells like trouble to me!!
Garrett trying really hard to lift it, just a little to heavy for him. So we got out his play rifle so he could have that while the other guys used the real BB Guns.

Daddy Joe, so proud of his two boys, starting to get into the real fun stuff.
