New Ceiling Fan

My brother came over and put up the new ceiling fan I got for our entry way. I was just sick of that old 70's light fixture, it was time for a change. Travis (my bro) has put up many fans/light fixtures before and seemed to think it would be pretty easy. Well nothing is easy, it took about 4hours, including the two trips back to the hardware store for the correct parts. Travis ended up having to climb up in our attic, through all the gross insulation on one of the hottest days of this summer, yuck. We had a pretty big mess at the end, but the new fan works great. Thank you so much Trav!!

And the finished product, with a little extra part to turn the light on and off while we decided whether to get a remote or a wall control. We ended up having to get a remote, worked out ok.

Chips for Breakfast??

So the other day both boys woke up in the morning, and thought I really want chips. It was so cute, just hanging out on the counter eating some yummy chips. I did feed them a more well rounded breakfast after they finished their chips.

Garrett is priceless, just eating my chips mom. Gavin looks a little more snicky.

Tour of the Fire Station

The boys and I took a fun trip to our local Millwood Fire Station today with our Mommy&Me group. They talked to the kids about fire safety and what to do if there was a fire. The kids got to look at the big fire trucks and learn about all the different functions. Garrett, of course, cried almost the whole time, but ended up calming down just about the time it was over......story of our lives. Gavin had a great time and enjoyed the "brand new shiny sticker and green pencil" they got from the Firemen at the end of the tour. Once we got home, on this really hot July day, I find out that our central AC has broken, again. So we are in the heat for awhile, they can't even come look at it until Friday. And who knows how long we may have to wait for a new part. Argh!!!! Home Ownership is not all that fun sometimes. Other then that we had a nice day, always great to spend time with my boys.

Happy 8th Birthday Troy!! Thanks for having us over for a great birthday bash. It seems to always get a little crazy when the cousins get together, and this was no exception. Troy having a great time opening his gifts.

Post Falls/CDA Pow Wow

The Keeney family went to the Post Falls/CDA annual Pow Wow and had a great time. Looked at animals, and T-pees, lots of jewelry and crafts. The boys got to go on some fun bouncing slides. Then the actual Pow Wow started off with a great Horse Parade, and then came the dancers. So much to look at, fantastic colors and costumes. Thanks so much for the invite Trav & Ging. We will have to go again next year.

3D & Superheros

These boys of mine are all about the superhero capes. You don't often see Batman & Superman enjoying a nice lunch of Mac N' Cheese. I took the boys to an outside movie on Thursday, we saw "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in 3D. I didn't get any pictures of that night, but the next morning they had fun wearing the glasses. Can't believe Garrett stayed up for the whole movie, and it started at 9:00pm, Wow! We had a lot of fun, and once in awhile is ok to keep them up way past there bed times.

Halloween in July!!!!

Today in the Keeney household it was Halloween! Yeah!! Gavin was looking through some old photos of Halloween's past this morning. Ran upstairs and announced he wanted to be a Kangaroo. How funny, so he puts it on in 80degree weather and had a blast. Ran around the house hopping up and down, saying he was a Kangaroo. Nice to know the costume still fits, and hope to use it again this year. Happy Halloween!!!

More Coeur d' Alene Fun

After we checked out some of the stores in CDA we took the kids to play in the Park. We ended up on the beach to get our feet wet. Gavin decided he wanted to get all wet. He loved the water, I only wish I would have brought a swimsuit so we could have gone it further.
