Day trip to Fort Spokane

We were invited to Fort Spokane for the day on Saturday to do some boating and see the camping life. I camped a lot when I was little and really don't enjoy it that much, so we've never taken the boys camping yet. But of course they seemed to really love it once we got there. We left the house around 10:30am and got there around 12:30 just in time for lunch. We had something to eat and then headed out on my brother's boat. The kids had a blast and Garrett is defiantly more convertable with the boat this year. Which is so nice not to have him on my lap the whole time. My brother did some fun wake boarding (crazy man....way too cold for me). We spent a little time out on the water and then headed to a beach to chill and let the kids play. And of course I had to go to the bathroom (which is a whole other story....which I will spare details) lets just say I was out of my element a little. Then we docked the boat and BBQ'd some dinner, Joe and I brought some yummy steaks and the boys had pretty much what ever they could get their hands on. After dinner we headed back to the boat for a quick trip to a really cool cove (Hawk cove?) unsure if that's the exact name. Took some great pictures, and then took the boat out of the water for the night and started to get ready for fireworks, which they did on Sat. instead of Sunday, turned out great for us. We all had a blast and I might stay and camp for one night next year and try it out.....but we don't even own a tent!! In the car getting ready to leave, pretty excited to see their cousin Austin.

Some great close ups of the boys.

My three handsome men in their shades, so cool.

Uncle Travis doing a pretty good job staying a float.

He got up three times and got pretty tired after that. I don't think I could have lasted that long.
Hanging out on the beach, Garrett was all about the water. It was still pretty cold so I didn't bring his swim trunks, he got his pants all wet and soaked his diaper. And of course I didn't have another diaper either, I was really slacking on the remembering things this trip.

Gavin and his stick, he had great fun just playing with the sand wall.

Who's that stud!!!!!!

Sometimes I wonder if Garrett's really my kid, he loves to get dirty??

Travis and Austin doing a little swimming, still way too cold for me.

Gavin's turn at driving the boat, he loves to go in circles.

Garrett's turn.

Hawk cove.........really cool rock formations and trees.

Mommy and Garrett!!

Garrett is having so much fun, he really is starting to enjoy boating.

The boys (Joe and Logan, a camping buddy of Travis&Ginger's) tried to throw Austin in the water. I was too slow with the camera and didn't get the money shot of them holding him upside down over the water. Funny stuff.

Back at camp building a fire to do some smore's (which is the only reason why I came) I love some toasted marshmellows.
Fireworks time, Ginger is always prepared and had lots of fun stuff for the kids to play with. Glow sticks, flags....and more.

Gavin and his flag....and his silly posing for a picture smile.

Such a cute picture of Garrett and his pretend light saver.

Uncle Travis.....always the life of the party.

Fireworks have started, but we are all pretty tired.

Fireworks started at about 10:00pm and ended at 10:30pm, then we had an hour and a half drive home. The boys slept the whole way home of course but Joe and I didn't get to bed until 1:00am, long day but so much fun.
