Austin's Pinewood Derby

My nephew Austin's cub scout Pinewood Derby car race was this weekend. Our boys (Gavin & Garrett) made their own cars this year to enter into the family races. They had such a fun time, they listened for their names to be called then they got to go up front and place their cars on the track. The boy scouts were selling hot dogs, chips and pop, the boys enjoyed a few bags of chips during the two hours we were there. Uncle Travis and Austin checking in the cars and weighing them.
Aunt Ginger on the other side of the table getting cars numbers on and names picked out for the young ones cars.

Our silly boys showing off there "licence's" to race their cars, so cute.

I'm licenced to drive/race now!!

Austin lost a tooth this day and I was trying to get him to point to it. He was pretty excited about the tooth fairy coming to visit. Somehow the tooth feel off the kitchen counter and broke into two pieces, so he was concerned about fitting both pieces in his tooth fairy pillow pocket. :)

A picture of a video taker!

Garrett and Gavin's cars. Garrett's is the red one with Pirate stickers, and Gavin's is the orange with Transformer stickers.

#32 car is Austin's derby car for this year, pretty cool with a guy in it and steering wheel.

Some of the crazy cars that people came up with.

Lego car.

The Trophy's.

Garrett's first race, getting ready to put his car on the track.

All the boys who had their cars in the race (#4 at a time) got to sit at the end of the track to watch. So much fun for my little guys.

Gavin's turn!

Love the excitement on Garrett's face.

Each boy got to race his car 4times.

Gavin waiting for his opponents to join him.

Go, go, go car!! Gavin had a blast watching his car.
Fun picture of Mom&Dad taken by Gavin.

Ahh, my boys, so cute........all of them.

Misc Fun Pix's of our boys

Just a few fun pictures of our boys taken in March. We found Garrett like this the other night, he feel asleep watching a movie in Mom&Dad's bed, and was obviously comfortable. What a cute kid.

The other day Gavin had a fun idea to make a guitar out of cardboard. And what's a guitar without a microphone stand. We made one up out of a gift wrapping roll and a toy microphone.

Gavin's cheesy smile, rockin out like a real rock star.

He's really getting into it now.

Of course brother Garrett needed a guitar too. So now we have a band!! Maybe we'll call them the "G" boys.
We also took some fun video of the boys as well. Great memories!!
Garrett singing mommy a tune, how cute is his little face.

St. Patty's Day 2011!! Gavin had to skip Preschool to go to the dentist for his 1st cavity. So we brought home the activity he was going to do in class for St. Patty's day. Matching and counting lucky charms......and eating them of course.

Garrett's turn for some lucky charm fun.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!!!!!!!!!

Finishing Pinewood Derby Cars

The boys got invited by their cousin Austin to make their own Pinewood Derby cars this year. The first few pictures are one's Ginger took when the boys first started making the cars. The other pic's were taken just the other day finishing the painting, stickers and spraying the cars. The boys really had fun doing this with Austin and Travis! Thanks guys for including the boys. We are excited for the Derby race coming up next weekend, the boys will run their cars in the family race and see how they do.

Each boy picked out one of their hot wheel cars to model their cars after.

So cute, all ready to paint.

Hanging out in the garage with cousin Austin.

Garrett wanted his car red (of course).

Gavin wanted his car Orange, so Ginger had to combine paint to make orange for him. Thanks so much G!
Garrett did a really good job painting his car, I had to do a small amount of touch up.

Gavin starting in on his car.

Aunt Ginger helped him out with the last touch ups before it started to dry.

Sticker time! Austin so graciously let the boys use some of his Transformer stickers for their cars.

Garrett did pirate stickers on his car.

Uncle Travis getting the weights put on.

The end result after paint and stickers. Now time to spray coat it, before tires go on.

The MEN!
Thanks guys for letting us do these with you this year.
